Hyannis Transportation Center
The heart of transportation on Cape Cod is the Hyannis Transportation Center, conveniently located in the East End of Hyannis, just off Main Street. Get Google Map.
The Transportation Center is home to bike-friendly Cape Cod RTA transit buses; Plymouth & Brockton coaches to Provincetown, Boston and Logan Airport; Peter Pan coaches to Providence, New Bedford, Fall River and New York City; and taxis.
The Transportation Center is open year-round between 5 am and 8:30 pm. There’s long-term and overnight parking for 160 vehicles; from April to September, the cost is $6 per day; in the off-season it’s $4 per day. Consider a year-round monthly pass for $65. Heading to Nantucket or Martha’s Vineyard?
Pick up the land line at the Transportation Center, and ask the Steamship Authority to send over a free shuttle bus to take you to its Hyannis docks.
Flying?
The RTA’s Barnstable Villager bus will drop off and pick up passengers on request at nearby Barnstable Municipal Airport.
A Ride on the Rails
In season, the Cape Cod Central Railroad departs from the Transportation Center on daily, scenic rides to the Cape Cod Canal area and evening dinner train service. Be a smart traveler and take your bike aboard the scenic train to explore the canal
