Take the Bus

P& B Bus at Hyannis Transportation Center'The Hyannis Transportation Center, at the east end of Main Street in Hyannis, is home to Cape Cod RTA transit buses and shuttles, and coaches serving Cape Cod and off-Cape destinations.

From Off Cape:

  • Peter Pan Bus serves Bourne and the Falmouth Bus Depot from T. F. Green Airport in Rhode Island with stops in downtown Providence, Fall River and New Bedford.
  • Peter Pan Bus serves Bourne, Falmouth/Woods Hole from Logan Airport, downtown Boston, New York City, Providence, RI, New Bedford, Worcester and Western Mass.  A bus change may be required.
  • Peter Pan serves Hyannis from Washington, DC, New York City, Providence, RI, Fall River and New Bedford.  A bus change may be required.
  • Plymouth & Brockton Bus - P&B serves Hyannis, Orleans, Provincetown and other Outer Cape towns from Logan Airport, downtown Boston and Plymouth.

All Hyannis buses arrive at the Hyannis Transportation Center.

On Cape:
Go to all major destinations on Cape Cod RTA buses. They serve Barnstable, Hyannis, Falmouth, Woods Hole, Orleans and Provincetown, and points in between. From most places along the route, you may wave to a bus driver to pick you up. All vehicles have bicycle racks and are accessible to people with disabilities. Multiple ride discount passes are available.  Plan your trip online with Google Transit.  See where your Cape Cod RTA bus is at all times.  Go.

Flex Bus

The Flex Bus serves Harwich, Brewster, Orleans, Eastham, Wellfleet, Truro, Provincetown and Cape Cod National Seashore Visitor Centers.

Going off-route? Just make a reservation at least two hours ahead of time, and the Flex bus will take you to destinations within ¾ of a mile of its main route. Call 800 352-7155.

You can wave to the driver to stop at any safe place along its route. There’s one major exception: flagging is not permitted anywhere along Rte. 6 for safety reasons.

Seasonal Service

In season, ride the WHOOSH Trolley between Falmouth and Woods Hole.  Ride the Provincetown-North Truro Shuttle to National Seashore beaches in Provincetown. 

Ride Cape Cod RTA’s free Hyannis Area Trolley from June 28-Labor Day. It connects Main Street restaurants and shops with the Hy-Line and Steamship Authority ferry docks in Hyannis and the Hyannis Transportation Center. The trolley runs seven days a week from 11 am to 9 pm. Flag it down anywhere along the route.
